What different types of breast pumps are there?

There are three main types of breast pump on the market – electric, wearable and manual.

Electric breast pumps:

• can be single or double to pump one or both breasts
• are quick and efficient
• might be useful if you’re planning to pump more than once a day
• use mains or battery power, or sometimes both

Wearable breast pumps:

• newer on the market, these battery-powered electric pumps are small enough to fit inside your bra

Manual breast pumps:
