If you’ve shopped online, you’ve probably shopped at Amazon. This one-stop-shop offers products from small independent businesses alongside big baby brands like Philips, Tommee Tippee and Huggies. Starting a Baby Wishlist is quick and easy, and there are thousands of items for bump and beyond. Once it’s set up you simply share the link. Just make sure your list is set to public, as you won’t be able to share it if it’s private. Amazon offers a curated list of products to help you get started and makes it easy to keep track of what your friends and family have gifted.

If you’re looking for a universal gift registry that lets you buy from lots of different stores, Babylist could suit you perfectly. The BabyCenter Community parents certainly approve, giving this registry the thumbs up for simplicity, variety and the easy-to-use app. If you’re not sure where to get started, there are lots of themed sample registries for you to check out and a team of online ‘Happiness Heroes’ are available via email, chat, and phone to help build your registry. Something we really love about this registry is that you can also add help and favours to your list, which is perfect if your guests are on a budget. You can request a home-cooked meal, second-hand baby items or even help with cleaning or walking the dog.

To get started you’ll need to set up a Baby Bunting account, which automatically nabs you a $10 gift card. From there select ‘Create Gift Registry’. There are lots of beautiful products to choose from and it’s easy to add them to your list. Make your registry public so your guests can search for it on the gift registries page using your name, email address, or registry ID number. If you’ve made your gift registry private, you’ll need to share the link directly. If you see something in store that you’d like to add to your list, make a note of the product number (sku) and you can add it online later.

If there’s a large, expensive item on your list add a David Jones Celebration card so that friends and family can all contribute. DJs also offers a gift wrapping service for a small fee. 

Why should you start a baby registry?

Baby registries have been gaining popularity in Australia and we think they’re a great idea. You get to choose the items you adore and buyers know that they’re purchasing something you really want. Everyone’s a winner. You can include anything you like on your baby registry, from newborn nappies and baby sleeping bags to strollers and car seats.

A baby registry also makes it easy for you to keep track of who’s bought what, which cuts down on the chance of doubling up and makes it super easy for you to send thank you notes. Plus, some baby registries offer discounts when you set up your registry or if you want to buy items that are left on your list.

When should I send out my baby registry?

We recommend sharing your gift registry around four weeks ahead of your due date or baby shower, this ensures everyone has enough time to shop before the arrival of your new little one. You can send out a link to your baby registry ID or perhaps include details with your baby shower invitation.
